Description	:	Dayton Review February 21, 1907 Hans Mollenhoff was born in Bergsjö, Hälsingland, Sweden, February 26, 1826, and died at his home at Burnside on Tuesday of last week, aged 80 years, 11 months, 16 days. Here he grew to manhood, coming to America in 1850, settling at Andover, Ill. He was married to Marie Sophia Larson Oct. 9, 1853. In 1881, they removed to Burnside, settling on their farm just west of that place, where he lived until his death. Read More	Dayton Review February 21, 1907 Hans Mollenhoff was born in Bergsjö, Hälsingland, Sweden, February 26, 1826, and died at his home at Burnside on Tuesday of last week, aged 80 years, 11 months, 16 days. Here he grew to manhood, coming to America in 1850, settling at Andover, Ill. He was married to Marie Sophia Larson Oct. 9, 1853. In 1881, they removed to Burnside, settling on their farm just west of that place, where he lived until his death. In 1859 he was seized with the gold fever, going to Pike's Peak, returning home in 1861. The remainder of his life was spent on the farm. One daughter preceded him to the Better Land a few years ago; five children, four sons and a daughter survive him with the bereaved wife to mourn his death. He helped to build the original Augustana church at Andover, Ill., the first Swedish Lutheran church west of Philadelphia. On coming to Burnside he united with the Lutheran church at Dayton, transferring to the church at Burnside upon its organization a few years ago. His funeral was held from the Lutheran church at Burnside Friday forenoon, his pastor, Rev. Newman, conducting the services, and his remains were laid to rest in Dayton cemetery. Mr. Mollenhoff lived a devoted Christian to his death, loved and respected by all with whom he came in contact. A host of friends of the sorrowing family sympathize with them in their loss of husband and father.
