Hanson who passed away the forepart of the week in a Hawarden, Iowa, hospital. Rev. E. L. Erlander officiated and burial was made in the Rockfield cemetery. Erlander officiated and burial was made in the Rockfield cemetery. Obituary Hans Peter Hanson was born in Odense, Denmark, November 23, 1878. When eight years of age he came to the United States where he made his home with his grandparents at Lincoln, Nebraska. There he lived for several years before coming to South Dakota where he labored as a farm hand in the Rockfield community. On March 16, 1906 Mr. Hanson was united in marriage to Minnie Robertson. During this year they moved to Davey, Nebraska, where they farmed for two years. The couple then came back to the Rockfield community and purchased a farm and this has been his home ever since with the exception of seven years which he spent in the city of Beresford where he was engaged in the trucking business. As a neighbor, Mr. Hanson was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need thus leaving a wide circle of friends in whose midst he will be greatly missed. During the past September Mr. Hanson entered a nursing home in Hawarden. Here he was cared for until a week before his death. He was taken to the Hawarden hospital where he passed away Monday morning, February 14, having suffered a heart ailment and dropsy. Mr. Hanson was preceded in death by his parents and his wife who passed away April 7, 1937. Also, a grandson, James Lee Gamberg, who died January 4, 1938.
