He was the second son of James P. and Alpha C. Gaston. At an early age he moved with his parents to a farm east of Tescott, Kansas. He received his elementary education at the Tripp School. He was converted and baptized by immersion at the First Christian Church in Tescott. Later he attended the Presbyterian Church at Culver. He was a farmer until his health began to fail.... He was the second son of James P. and Alpha C. Gaston. At an early age he moved with his parents to a farm east of Tescott, Kansas. He received his elementary education at the Tripp School. He was converted and baptized by immersion at the First Christian Church in Tescott. Later he attended the Presbyterian Church at Culver. He was a farmer until his health began to fail. He passed away October 7, at the home of his half-sister, Mrs. Thelma Garst in Bennington. He is also survived by a half-brother, Averill Gaston of Aberdeen, Wash., and a half-sister, Mrs. Elveria Brown of Eugene, Oregon; four nephews and two nieces. His father, mother, sister Agnes and brother, Raymond, preceded him in death. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Culver Presbyterian Church, Mrs. Ira Dent officiating. Mrs. Larry Knox and Mrs. Clarence Base sang, accompanied by Mrs. Joe Armstrong, pianist. Pallbearers were Merle Kepple, Paul Reed, Giles Cobb, Victor Breneman, Owen Cobb and Cecil Humbarger. Burial was in the Bennington Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were in charge of the Parks-Holtz Funeral Home.
