Read More	Stratford Courier April 13, 1905 Obituary Rose People were given a shock that they will be long in forgetting when the news spread that Harry, the young son of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Rose, had been drowned in a swill barrel about 11:15 Wednesday forenoon last week. Left alone while he went out to play, while his father went to town and his mother lay sick in the house, he wandered out to the barnyard and with childish curiosity rolled the stone and lid from the top of the barrel, which was set about half-way to the ground, and in some way fell into it. Here the agonized father found him about fifteen minutes after he was last seen playing in the yard. A doctor was sent for, but he could not revive the spark of life which had already fled. Little Harry was born September 28, 1902, and has since been a source of constant happiness to his parents. He was their hope, their all, and it does seem so cruel that the life which had just commenced to open up, blossom into a flower so fair that all of earth's treasures could not compare with it in their eyes, should be thus taken from them. They watched him as he grew day by day, not only in stature, but in love. They guarded his little feet that he should not come into harm's way. They prayed that he might live and care for them in old age. But one day Death came and God's angels carried their heart's treasure away to heaven, where, dressed in the glorious raiment of God, he beckons to them with his chubby little hands to come and meet him even as God has said: "And a little child shall lead them," and "Come unto me and I will give you rest." Sad are the parents, but one glad day they shall she him in all his glory surrounded by God and His angels. The funeral was held Friday at the home and at the Lutheran church, conducted by Rev. A.P. Martin. The remains were laid to rest in the Oakwood cemetery. The sympathy of the entire community is extended to the sorrow stricken parents.
