Four boys, James, John, Charles and William were born to this union. John dying in infancy. In 1865 the family came to Illinois and one year later, to Iowa County, Iowa. Read More	Source: The Victor Record 10/6/1915 HARRIETT A. NORTON Harriett A. King was born in Sangersfield, New York on July 31st, 1836. In 1859 she was married to John D. Norton. Four boys, James, John, Charles and William were born to this union. John dying in infancy. In 1865 the family came to Illinois and one year later, to Iowa County, Iowa. In 1892 they moved on a farm near Hartwick where they resided until the father passed away, November 2, 1902, being then 66 years of age. 28 years ago, Mrs. Norton united with the Methodist Episcopal church to which she belonged when departing this life. Her sickness lasted two months, during which time she was able to take but little nourishment or medicine. She gradually grew weaker but held her loveliness of spirit until the end, when came September 4th, 1915, at 5:30 a.m. She was 79 years and two months old. She leaves three sons, James and Charles of Victor, and William, of Montezuma, six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, one brother, and one sister. Many relatives and friends share the loss and extend their heartfelt sympathy to those who mourn her departure. The funeral was held at 2:30 Friday afternoon at the M.E. Church. The music was furnished by a ladies quartet from the choir, and the service was conducted by Rev. J. F. Rex, assisted by Rev. George Blagg, pastor of the M.E. Church of Montezuma. Interment was beside her husband in the Victor cemetery.
