SELLERS The reaper of death has once more thrown it's keen sickle into our midst and reaped one ripe for the harvest in the person of Harrison P. Sellers, more familiarly known as Uncle Perry. Mr. Sellers was one of our oldest and most respected citizens, being born in Garrard county, Kentucky, June 9, 1813, and dying July 23, 1895, making him 82 years, 1 month and 14 days old at the time of his death. He was married to Miss Margaret Vanlandingham, who survives him, on Nov. 28, 1834. This union was blessed with eleven children, nine of whom are still living and two deceased, Francis, who died in infancy and Mrs. Sarah Boles. The living children are: Mrs. Nancy Culver, Mrs. Mary Colver, Mrs. Jane Ratcliff and James, William, Thomas, Wyatt, John and Nathan, the last two being twins. Uncle Perry united with the church of Christ at Greencastle, Ohio in 1835, and in 1847 emigrated to Lucas county and settled near what is known as Brown S. H. (school house) in Cedar township. In 1855 he entered the farm on which he passed the remainder of his days. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Green of Russell, after which the remains were followed to the McDermott (Bethel) cemetery and interred by a large concourse of sympathizing friends. Obituary courtesy of Charles M. Wright
