Sellers was born in the state of Indiana in the year 1833 and died at the home of her son, Johnson Colver, Aug. 4, 1901. She was married to George Colver in 1851. To this union were born six children, all of whom survive her, but only three of whom were present at the funeral. Colver. Daughter of Harrison Perry Sellers and Margaret Vanlandingham OBITUARY THE CHARITON PATRIOT Chariton, Iowa Thursday, August 15, 1901 MARY M. COLVER Mary M. Sellers was born in the state of Indiana in the year 1833 and died at the home of her son, Johnson Colver, Aug. 4, 1901. She was married to George Colver in 1851. To this union were born six children, all of whom survive her, but only three of whom were present at the funeral. Her son accompanied her remains from Fontanelle to Chariton, where they were met by friends and conveyed to the McDermott (Bethel) cemetery, where brief services were conducted by Rev. Blackburn of the U. B. church, of which deceased had been a member for thirty years. Her afflictions were severe for several years prior to her death. Her husband, George Colver, enlisted in the army early in the war of the rebellion and died of small pox at Mound City, Tennessee, leaving her a widow with her children, but she raised them and lived to see them all comfortably settled in life. The relatives and friends have the sympathy of the community.
