Description | : | Harrison Whitney Bowers was born in Lowell, Mass., Nov. 15, 1837; son of Reuben Dighton and Eliza (Whitney) Bowers; Reuben, a farmer, died Oct. 23, 1878, aged about 70 years at Virginia, IL; she died April 27, 1839, aged 27 years at Lowell, Mass. Harrison at two years old was placed in his uncle's care, in Swanton, Vermont, his mother having died soon after his birth.
