Academy School and may be left in care of Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home with whom the final care has been entrusted. Harry was born December 13, 1930 in Sabetha, Kansas the son of Harry David Hennigh, Sr., and Nora Adams Hennigh. He attended elementary school in Sabetha and graduated from Sabetha High School. Harry served in the United States Air Force from February 27, 1950 until his honorable discharge on March 7, 1963 with a rank of Staff Sargent. He and Joan Elaine Gursky were united in marriage on June 28, 1952 in Racine, Wisconsin. The couple made their home in Racine from 1963 until 1966 and while in Racine, Harry served with the Racine Police Department and then the United States Postal Service. They then moved to Atchison, Kansas where Harry served with the Atchison Police Department for eight years before becoming the Chief of Police in Sabetha, Kansas where he served for three years. He then returned to Atchison to work at the Atchison Hospital in the maintenance department until his retirement. Harry was a member of St. Benedict Parish. In his free time he enjoyed being a sports spectator and especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren in all of their sporting events. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Joan Hennigh, Atchison, KS; two sons, Michael (Karen) Hennigh, Atchison, KS; Daniel (Robin) Hennigh, Atchison, KS; two daughters, Patty (Dennis) Gardner, Atchison, KS; Kathy (Terry) Chalfant, Brighton,CO; twelve grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son Mark Hennigh and four sisters, Norma, Margaret, Bernice and Mildred.
