The Nelson Gazette, Thursday, May 31, 1956 ======================== Harry Comstock, one of Nuckolls county's (sic) early settlers, was born in Pawnee City, Nebr., Dec. 20, 1874 and passed away May 31, 1956 in the Brodstone Memorial Hospital at Superior at the age of 81 years, 5 months and 11 days. He came to Nuckolls county (sic) as a small child and settled with his folks on a farm near Oak where he grew to manhood. He was united in marriage Nov. 9, 1898 to Flossie Burkett. To this union ten children were born, six sons and four daughters: Mrs. Bessie Dunn, Superior, Mrs. Jessie Vough, Nelson; Ray, Richmond, Calif.; Carl and Glenn of Nelson; Mrs. Blanche Brown, Loveland, Colo.; Mrs. Fay Boone, Camas, Wash.; Frank, Hemet, Calif.; and Wilbur and Edward of Millard. He also leaves to mourn his passing, five daughers-in-law, three sons-in-law, 18 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, many other relatives and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Flossie, Sept. 14, 1919. His family will always remember the devotion with which he held the family together after the death of his first wife. He was loved and respected by all for this and for all that he did to make a home for his children. On June 11, 1938 he was married to Clara Mae Troudt (sic), who also remains to mourn his passing. Funeral services were held in the Klawitter chapel in Nelson at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon with the Reverend Lincoln Justice officiating. Interment was made in the Nelson cemetery (sic).
