Description	:	GARRETT HARVEY B.—Harvey B. Garrett, son of David E. and Sarah McPherson Garrett, was born October 1, 1887, near Dailey, Mich. He passed away at the Fillmore county Hospital in Geneva Monday morning, March 13, 1961, at the age of 73 years 5 months and 12 days. Garrett, son of David E. and Sarah McPherson Garrett, was born October 1, 1887, near Dailey, Mich. He passed away at the Fillmore county Hospital in Geneva Monday morning, March 13, 1961, at the age of 73 years 5 months and 12 days. He came to Fillmore county, Nebraska, with his parents in the spring of 1891. He attended school, and grew to manhood here. He was united in marriage to Ida M. Theobald, March 22, 1911. To this union were born four children, Kathleen, Harlan, Florence and Richard. He was engaged in farming near Geneva until 1941, when he retired and made his home with his daughters. February 14, 1944, he was united in marriage to Viola M. Bender of Geneva. He made his home in Geneva until his death. He was a member of the Congregational church. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Ida, in 1927 and one brother, Hugh M. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Viola; daughters, Mrs. Jesse (Kathleen) Richards, Mrs. Warren (Florence) Lefever, both of Geneva; sons, Harlan of Aurora, Col., and Richard of Kimball, Neb.; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, John of Geneva; several nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at the Kritner-Farmer funeral home in Geneva at 2 p. m. Thursday, Marcy 16, Rev. Robert Kasper officiated. Ralph Reemts sang “Good Night and Good Morning” and “Beyond the Sunset”. Mrs. Willard Foster was accompanist. Pallbearers were Melvin Ellison, Robert Halsey, J. R. Lefever, Ed McCluskey, LeRoy Miles and George Taylor. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery. The Nebraska Signal 23 March 1961 page 9.
