Description	:	CHURCHILL HARVEY HAROLD—Harvey Harold Churchill was born on December 19, 1906, on a farm in Chelsea township, Fillmore county, Neb. He was one of ten children of Walter and Gepha Churchill. As a young man he attended the First Christian church of Geneva. He was baptized on May 4, 1924. He graduated from Geneva high school in 1926 and received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Kearney State Teachers College in 1929. He completed additional course work including studies in Mexico to study the culture and language of the people of that country. Read More	CHURCHILL HARVEY HAROLD—Harvey Harold Churchill was born on December 19, 1906, on a farm in Chelsea township, Fillmore county, Neb. He was one of ten children of Walter and Gepha Churchill. As a young man he attended the First Christian church of Geneva. He was baptized on May 4, 1924. He graduated from Geneva high school in 1926 and received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Kearney State Teachers College in 1929. He completed additional course work including studies in Mexico to study the culture and language of the people of that country. Harvey taught for a short time and was then engaged in various occupations including farming in the Fillmore county area until 1955. He re-entered the teaching profession and taught Spanish in secondary schools of Nebraska, Iowa and Colorado until his retirement in 1971. He was married on January 4, 1939, to Rachel Stahl of Grafton. To this union four children were born: Kathryn, Frederick, Judith and Stephen. Harvey was a kind and loving husband and father, and a dear friend to all who knew him. He passed away at his home in Fort Collins, Col., on January 12, 1982, at the age of 75 years and 24 days, after a brief illness. Harvey was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Elmer. Survivors include his wife, Rachel; two sons, Frederick of Athens, Greece, and Stephen of Fort Collins, Col., two daughters, Kathryn Millsap of Cedar Rapids, Ia., and Judith Oliver of Loveland, Col.; eight grandchildren; three brothers, Lindell of Fort Collins, Col., Donald of Bemidji, Minn., and Wayne of Geneva; five sisters, Stella Churchill of Schuyler, Nellie Bell of Geneva, Bessie Breckerbaumer of Phoenix, Ariz., Elsie Clinkenbeard of Akron, O., and Marguerite Guster of Algona, Ia.; also many other relatives and friends. Harvey will be missed by all who knew him. Funeral services were held at Fort Collins on January 14, 1982, and at the Farmer and Son funeral home in Geneva on January 16, 1982, with the Rev. Charles Schepel officiating. Mrs. Norval Lomax accompanied Delwin Myers who sang, “Going Home” and “Whispering Hope.” Pallbearers were Donald, Glenn and Wayne Churchill; Virgil Eppler, Melvin Krause and Russell Guster.
