She passed away on February 25, 1993, at the Schuyler Hospital in Schuyler, at the age of 93 years, 10 months, and 14 days. She was one of 10 children in the family. She passed away on February 25, 1993, at the Schuyler Hospital in Schuyler, at the age of 93 years, 10 months, and 14 days. She was one of 10 children in the family. Stella graduated from the Geneva High School with the Class of 1918. Following graduation she taught in several rural schools in Nebraska. In the summers, she pursued her degree at Kearney State College. After receiving her degree, she began teaching kindergarten and art in the Columbus school system. She remained in the Columbus system for more than 25 years. She went on to teach in elementary schools in Ohiowa, Nelson, and Tecumseh. Following her retirement, she moved back to Columbus for a short time and then moved to Schuyler, where she resided the remainder of her life. Stella was a member of the Columbus United Methodist Church, Eastern Star, Legion Auxiliary and the Retired Teachers Association, and Delta Kappa Gamma. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers Elmer, Harvey, and Lindell; and by one sister Nellie Bell. She is survived by two brothers, Donald and wife Bernice; Wayne and friend, Loraine Nichols; three sisters, Bessie Breckerbaumer, Elsie Clinkenbeard, and Marguerite Guster and husband Russell. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted from the Farmer and Son Funeral Home in Geneva, on Monday, March 1, with the Rev. Stanley Rider officiating. Musical selections were "In the Garden," "Ivory Palaces" and "Going Home." Those serving as casket bearers were Robert Bailey, George I. Cruse, Raymon Gough, Donald Larson, Charles H. Miller and Ray Peterson. Interment was in the Geneva Public Cemetery on the family lot. The Nebraska Signal March 3rd, 1993 page 3.
