Funeral services were held Wednesday, (12-10-2014) at 2 p.m. at Loflin Funeral Home Chapel in Ramseur with Rev. Bobby V. Seagroves officiating. Burial followed in Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery. Ms. Hayes was a native of Randolph County, daughter of the late Carson L. and Annie Cox Beane, and a graduate of Coleridge School. She attended business school, worked with Sears-Roebuck & Company, and later worked with the clerical department of the Internal Revenue Service... She was a founding member of Sharpe Road Baptist Church. Her husband, Edward Broughton Hayes, preceded her in death. She is survived by sons Barry Hayes of Siler City, Gareth Hayes of Durham; sister, Janette Beane Seagroves; six grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. Visitation was held from 12 noon to 2 p.m., Wednesday, at Loflin Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Memorials may be made to Shiloh Baptist Church, 4529 Moffitt Mill Road, Ramseur, NC 27316, or to Gideons International, Randolph North Camp 3213-3, P.O. Box 732, Asheboro, N.C. 27204.
