He has born in Osttriesland, Germany, on July 31, 1898, the son of Henry and Margaret Folkerts Andreesen. He came to the United States with his parents at the age of eight. The family settled in Jones county where he received his early education. On Oct. 5, 1927, he was united in marriage to Anna Siebels. After their marriage the couple farmed in Jones county until 1966 when they moved to their present home in Monticello. He is survived by his wife. Anna Siebels Andreesen and two children; a son, Richard H. Andreesen, Center Junction, and a daughter, Kathryn, Mrs. Scott Stivers, Dexter, Mich., and five grandchildren. Also surviving are six sisters; Mrs. Louise Gerdes, Anamosa; Mrs. Alma Siebels, Reseda, Calif.; Mrs. Helen Siebels, Monticello; Hannah, Mrs. Edwin Carlson, Arlington,Tex.; Clara, Mrs. Bernell Schwirtz, Martelle; and Mrs. Grace Woodworth, Bozeman, Mont. He was preceded in death by four brothers, a sister and his parents. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon, May 15, at 1:30 p.m. at the Wayne Zion Lutheran church with interment in Wayne Zion cemetery, Monticello. The Rev. Harvey O. Gilbertson officiated at the services. Casket bearers were Carl Siebels, Henry Siebels, Garret Gerdes, Robert Andreesen, William Aitchison and Gary Andreesen.
