Services will be held today, Tuesday, Aug 26 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran church in Anamosa with visitation at Goettsch Funeral home in Monticello until 11:30 a.m. and at the church from 12 - 1:30 p.m. She was born on March 29, 1902 at Otsfriesland, Germany, the daughter of Henry and Margaret Folkerts Andreesen.... The family came to the United States in 1907 and settled in Wayne township where she received her education. On Nov 24, 1921 she married Gerhard Siebels. The couple farmed for a few years before moving to Anamosa. Following her husband's death, Mrs. Siebels moved to Monticello. She is survived by one son, Henry W. Siebels of DeWitt; one daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Margaret) Howie of Monticello; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs. Louise Gerdes of Anamosa, Mrs. Alma Siebels of Reseda, Calif., Mrs. Edwin (Hannah) Carlson of Arlington, Tex., Mrs. Bernell (Clara) Schwirtz of Martelle and Mrs. Grace Woodworth, Bozeman, Mont. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and one sister. Burial will be in the Oakwood cemetery near Monticello. Pallbearers will be Gary Andreesen, Richard Andreesen, Robert Andreesen, Garrett Gerdes, Carl Siebels and John Andreesen.
