Description	:	CRISFIELD—Helen Christy Nielsen, 99, of Crisfield died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005, at Carroll Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Washington, D.C., where she had been a resident for six years. Born in Crisfield on Sept. 17, 1905, she was the last of six children of Fernando C. "Cart" and Annie Swift Headley. She was married to the late George R. Christy, who died in 1935 and was the owner of seafood and tomato processing factories in the Crisfield area during the 1930s. They had two children, Anna and Betty. Read More	CRISFIELD—Helen Christy Nielsen, 99, of Crisfield died Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005, at Carroll Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Washington, D.C., where she had been a resident for six years. Born in Crisfield on Sept. 17, 1905, she was the last of six children of Fernando C. "Cart" and Annie Swift Headley. She was married to the late George R. Christy, who died in 1935 and was the owner of seafood and tomato processing factories in the Crisfield area during the 1930s. They had two children, Anna and Betty. Betty Christy Nelson died in 1992. Following her husband's death, she later married Christen Nielsen of Copenhagen, Denmark. He died in 1992. In her late 30s she was employed as a seamstress supervisor at the former L.D. Griff manufacturing company during the late 1940s. She was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church in Crisfield and was an active member of the Peyton Sunday school class in her earlier years. She is survived by one daughter, Anna Coulbourne, and a grandson, both of Rockville, Md.; one niece; and one nephew, both of Crisfield; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield, where friends may call one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Bill Davis will officiate.
