CHRISTY DIED LAST SUNDAY Young Seafood Packer Dies After Long Illness Funeral Services Were Held Tuesday George R. Christy, well-known young Crisfield seafood packer and business man, died at his home on Maryland avenue on Sunday afternoon. He had been in ill health for several months, but his death came as a severe shock to his many friends throughout the entire community. He was thirty-four years of age. Mr. Christy was a son of the late George A. and Mrs. Elizabeth Christy, of this city. When a very young man, Mr. Christy became associated with his father in the seafood business. He later branched out for himself in the same line of business, becoming in a comparatively short time one of the city's leading packers and assuming a prominent place in affairs relating to the industry. The deceased was well liked among his business associates, and had many friends throughout the community who mourn his death. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Helen Headley Christy, two daughters, Anna Elizabeth and Betty Jane Christy. His mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Christy, and one brother, Clarence Christy, of this city, also survive. Funeral services were held from the home on Maryland avenue Tuesday afternoon, conducted by the Rev. J. Yancey Fincher, pastor of the Baptist Temple, assisted by the Rev. Ralph Minker, pastor of Immanuel M. E. Church. Interment was in Crisfield cemetery.
