She united with the Methodist church at an early age and remained a loyal member until... Read More	HEATH, HELEN ELOISE—Helen Eloise Heath was born August 10, 1898, at Geneva, Neb. She passed away at the hospital in Ogallala, Neb., as the result of an automobile accident, Saturday, May 25, 1940. Her age was 41 years, 9 months and 15 days. She graduated from the Geneva high school with the class of 1917. After having taught at Geneva four years, she specialized in commercial work and since that time had taught continuously in Yum and Eaton, Col. She united with the Methodist church at an early age and remained a loyal member until her untimely death. She was a member of Chapter A. B., P. E. O., at Eaton, Col., and had served as treasurer of that organization the past two years. She is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ira Heath of Geneva, and four brothers, Hugh, Harold, Arthur and Alvan, all of Geneva, and one sister, Mrs. Fred Langseth of Lincoln; also two nieces and four nephews. She will not only be greatly missed by her relatives, but also by her many friends, both at Geneva and at Eaton, Col. The funeral service was held at the Methodist church at 2:30 p. m. Tuesday and was conducted by Rev. William Kilburn. "Home of the Soul" and "One Sweetly Solemn Thought" were sung by Mrs. A. H. Elder, Mrs. H. A. Rosenau, Howard Hamilton and Chan Hrubesky, with Miss Neva Bishop at the organ. The members of Chapter O. P. E. O., attended in a body. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery. ALSO: Miss Helen Heath, commercial teacher in the Eaton, Col, high school, was fatally injured in an automobile accident near Ogallala, Neb., Saturday, May 25, while on her way to her home at Geneva. She was taken to the Ogallala hospital, where she passed away an hour later. Miss Heath was driving alone in her own car. It is believed she fell asleep at the wheel and the car struck a cement culvert on the highway. Miss Olia Burright, also an Eaton teacher, was driving her car a short distance behind Miss Heath's car. Miss Burright was on her way to Gravity, Ia. Both teachers stopped at Ovid, Col., for gas. There Miss Heath said she was very sleepy, but would continue her drive. Ira Heath, Hugh and Harold left for Ogallala on receipt of word of the accident. The Nebraska Signal May 30th, 1940 page 1.
