Description	:	HEATH, IRA P.—Ira P. Heath, son of James and Isabel Heath, was born in Athens, O., February 1, 1871. He passed away at his home in Geneva, January 29, 1961, at the age of 89 years, 11 months and 29 days. He moved with his parents to Richmondale, O., in 1873 and in 1884 they came to Nebraska and settled on a farm northwest of Geneva. He was united in marriage with Lillian A. Heath, son of James and Isabel Heath, was born in Athens, O., February 1, 1871. He passed away at his home in Geneva, January 29, 1961, at the age of 89 years, 11 months and 29 days. He moved with his parents to Richmondale, O., in 1873 and in 1884 they came to Nebraska and settled on a farm northwest of Geneva. He was united in marriage with Lillian A. Burnett, March 14, 1894, and became a member of the Methodist church the same year. To this union six children were born. Three children preceded him in death. They were Helen, Hugh and Arthur. He is survived by his wife, two sons, Harold and Alvan of Geneva, and one daughter, Mrs. Fred Langseth of Lincoln, nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Four brothers and one sister also preceded him in death. He spent his entire life farming, until 1940, when Mr. and Mrs. Heath retired and moved to their present home in Geneva, where they resided until his death. Their home was the former residences of Mrs. Heath’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles H. Burnett. Mr. Heath had an excellent memory of early day history of this community. He was a member of Company G, and was in that unit when it was sent to Northwestern Nebraska because of trouble with the Indians. He was one of the last survivors of the old company. Funeral services were held at the Kritner-Farmer funeral home in Geneva at 2 p. m. Tuesday, January 31. Rev. Alden B. Sears officiated. Pallbearers were Dean, Harlan, Lowell, and Ronald Heath, Louis C. Domeier and Max Dowdy. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery. The Nebraska Signal February 2nd, 1961 page 9.
