Born in Kimberly, British Columbia on June 22, 1922 to John and Ina Pearl (Anthony) Veroske, she was raised near Ardenvoir in the Entiat Valley and graduated from Chelan High School in 1940. She married William Beamguard (1920-2000) later that year and the couple had two sons, Robert and Rodney. Helen enjoyed her role as homemaker and mother, and also working at a dry cleaners, reporting Bridgeport news to the Wenatchee World, and working in Seattle area drugstores as a pharmacist's assistant and buyer for the gift departments. Her husband's work for the P.U.D. took them from Leavenworth to Entiat then Bridgeport, and the family later relocated to Bellevue where he worked for Puget Sound Power and Light for 35 years. Helen married Lynn Kirkpatrick (1917-2006) in 1977. Retirement for the couple enabled them to relocate to Chelan in 1984. Helen moved to a care center in Vancouver, Wash.to be near her youngest son Rodney upon Lynn's passing in 2006. Helen hosted many summer and holiday gatherings. Her warm hospitality and lovingly prepared meals were very much appreciated by all. She enjoyed crafting, sewing, quilting, birding and was an avid gardener. She spent many happy hours outdoors and was an expert at identifying NCW wildflowers, mushrooms, trees and other vegetation. She also donated her time and writing talent to the Lake Chelan Historical Society's museum in downtown Chelan. Survivors include her sister Rose (Susie Olson) Hendrickson and husband Roy of East Wenatchee; brother Bill Veroske and wife Wilma of Portland, Oregon; son Robert of Pahoa, Hawaii; son Rodney and wife Ginnie of Vancouver; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Her parents, older brother Jack Veroske, and younger brother Fred (Fritz) Veroske preceded her in death. A private family inurnment was held at the Fraternal Cemetery in Chelan on Saturday, November 7.
