Pallbearers were five grandsons, Richard Schroer, Kenneth Schroer, Michael Schroer, Arnold Kucera, Gerald Kucera and a great grandson, Kelly Schroer. Helen Kucera, daughter of John and Albina (Sebek) Harvanek was born near Deweese, Nebraska, January 6, 1895. She passed away at Bethesda Care Center, Blue Hill, Nebr. on June 30, 1993 at the age of 89 years, 5 mos. and 24 days. She lived all her life in the Deweese and Lawrence communities. She was united in marriage to Leonard J. Kucera, May 22, 1916 at Assumption Catholic Church in Deweese with Father Frank Kopecky officiating. Their married life was spent on a farm near Deweese until they retired in 1952 to live in Lawrence. Leonard passed away April 7, 1976. She continued to live in her home in Lawrence until 2 years ago when she moved to the Bethesda Care Center, Blue Hill, Ne. She was a devoted wife and mother, a member of Sacred Heart Church and the Altar Society. She is survived by two sons, Emil of Hastings, and Donald of Lawrence; a daughter Mrs. Al (Julia) Schroer of Lincoln; ten grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son, Anton; her parents and two sisters, Rose Hubl (Mrs. Frank) and Mary Harvanek. Out of town relatives who attended the funeral were from Lincoln, Hastings, Omaha, Blue Hill, Red Cloud, Guide Rock, Deweese and Fairfield.
