Description	:	MRS. E.C. CLARE, 58, PASSES AWAY SUNDAY Mrs. E.C.Clare, Winnetoon, passed away at Lundberg Memorial Hospital, Sunday following an illness of about a year. She was 58 years of age. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday morning at the Grace Bible Church with the Rev. Paul I. Ginn, pastor and the Rev. Gordon Jensen, pastor of the Congregational-Baptist Church officiating. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were W.K. Lane, Roy Koppelman, Orlie Herrick, Harald Andersen, Vern Fricke and Henry Frank. Helen Smith was born at Dow City, IA, May 11, 1897. She came to Nebraska with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Smith, in 1903. They lived in Creighton where she attended school and was graduated from Creighton High School. Later she taught in rural schools. In 1917, she was married to Elmer C. Clare of Winnetoon. To this union were born two daughters. In 1943, while her husband was serving in the armed forces overseas, she was in California and at that time accepted the Lord as her savior. She attended the Grace Bible Church in Creighton. After Mr. Clare returned from service they returned to their home in Winnetoon. She had been in failing health since June, 1954, when she underwent surgery. Surviving are her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Russell (Ruth) Bonge of Ainsworth and Mrs. Gerald (Delores) Hansen of Creighton; five grandchildren; her mother, Mrs. Nellie Smith of Creighton; two brothers, Dave Smith of San Diego, CA and Foster Smith of Hendricks, MN; four sisters, Mrs. August (Olive) Kehne of Winnetoon, Mrs. Bernice Henry of Glendale, Ca, Mrs. James (Rena) Kocina of Albuquerque, NM and Mrs. D.C.
