Father Stillwell of the Blair Episcopal church was in charge of services both in Blair and in Loup City. Burial was in Evergreen cemetery. The Blair V.F.W. Auxiliary participated in both services. Helen Olga Haesler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Haesler of Loup City, was born Oct. 23, 1906, at Columbus. At the age of three months she moved with her parents to Loup City. She graduated from Loup City high school in 1927 and entered nurses' training in the fall of 1927 at Clarkson Memorial hospital in Omaha, graduating in 1930. For a time she cared for her grandmother, Mrs. Gesiena Koch of Columbus. From 1942 to 1945 she worked at the Blair hospital. From 1945 until she became bedfast in September, 1949, she worked as a receptionist for Dr. C. D. Howard at the Blair clinic. During the ten months she was bedfast, she had a steady stream of visitors daily, the Blair Pilot-Tribune said last week. During her stay in Blair, she was an active member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars auxiliary, the Rebekah lodge, Royal Neighbor lodge, and Kensington. She helped organize the V.F.W. Auxiliary's Past President's Club, and she worked with the senior Girl Scouts. She became a member of the Episcopal church in November, 1949. She is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Haesler of Loup City; five sisters, Mrs. Lorin Goodwin of Longmont, Colo., Mrs. Chester Cramer of Kanorado, Kan., Mrs. Cloyce Sides of Loup City, Mrs. Alice Elliott of Lincoln, and Mrs. Richard Wrehe of Loup City; two brothers, Lt. Col. John Haesler of Falls Church, Va., and Elmer Haesler of Loup City; and five nieces and nephews. Out-of-town friends from Blair attending services here were Mrs. Mary Allen, John Schroeder, Miss Margaret Maher, Mrs. C. D. Howard, Mr. and Mrs. R. Fick, and 10 members of the V.F.W. Auxiliary.
