Burial will be made in the Dayton Cemetery. Carsons of Dayton are in charge of the arrangements. Surviving are his wife, and 3 daughters, Mrs. Orlyn Flygstad, Ellsworth; Mrs. Clifford Lindquist, Moline, Ill., and Mrs. Richard Harmon, Iowa Falls, Ia. Also a brother, Oscar Abrahamson, and a sister Mrs. Hulda Bloomquist, both of Dayton. Mr. Abrahamson had retired a few years ago from the farm, but did go to the farm of his son-in-law occasionally to help with the work. He suffered an accident last weekend involving a mower, and lost a part of a finger. He was taken to a hospital, treated and returned home, but later became worse again and was taken to Mary Greeley Hospital at Ames, where he died Monday evening. Dayton Review July 2, 1959 OBITUARY HENRY A. ABRAHAMSON Henry Albert Abrahamson, the son of Abraham and Carolina Abrahamson, was born at Dayton, Iowa, on January 25, 1886. On April 24 the same year he was baptized by Pastor C.A. Hemborg, and as a youth was confirmed at Emanuel Lutheran Church, Dayton on May 5, 1901, by Pastor J.A. Christenson. Henry Abrahamson was reared in this community and spent the major portion of his life here. On Feb. 25, 1920, Henry Abrahamson and Miss Mabel Olson were united in marriage here at Dayton by Pastor W.C. Ekeberg. To this union three daughters were born, all of whom survive their father. Although engaged briefly in other work, Mr. Abrahamson spent most all his adult life engaged in farming. Except for a year at Stratford, and 17 years in the Jewell community, he has farmed in the Dayton community during this time. He enjoyed this work and was regarded as an excellent farmer. About 2 years ago, Mr. and Mrs. Abrahamson retired and moved to Dayton. Although of frail health the past several years, Mr. Abrahamson has engaged in limited work and activity. Some time ago he cut his finger and infection set in. This was later diagnosed as tetanus, and despite all that was done for him resulted in death on Monday night, June 22, 1959, at the Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames. At the time of his passing he had attained the age of 73 years, 4 months and 27 days. Mr. Abrahamson is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mabel Abrahamson, three daughters; Lois, Mrs. Orlyn Flygstad, of Ellsworth, Iowa; Helen, Mrs. Clifford Lindquist, of Moline, Ill., and Doris, Mrs. Richard Harman of Iowa Falls, Iowa; seven grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Hulda Bloomquist, of Dayton, and one brother, Mr. Oscar Abrahamson, of Dayton, other relatives and many friends. He was a lifelong member of the Lutheran church. Peace be to the memory of Mr. Henry Abrahamson.
