Peters Henry August Peters was born August 31, 1899, to Fred and Maria Meyer Peters at Byron, Nebr., and died March 16, 1993 at the age of 93 years, six months and 15 days. He was baptized in 1899 at St. Peter Lutheran Church, and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in 1914. He received his education in Thayer County School District No. 68. September 22, 1922, he was united in marriage to Edna Peters. The marriage was blessed with three sons and one daughter. He was a farmer, carpenter, plumber and hardware store owner. ... He was baptized in 1899 at St. Peter Lutheran Church, and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in 1914. He received his education in Thayer County School District No. 68. September 22, 1922, he was united in marriage to Edna Peters. The marriage was blessed with three sons and one daughter. He was a farmer, carpenter, plumber and hardware store owner. he also helped his father install the first telephone service in Byron. He was active in St. John Lutheran Church as deacon, Sunday school teacher, custodian and aiding in extensive remodeling. After the closing of St. John's in 1963, he again became a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church where he remained until his death. After moving to Byron in 1963 he continued to do plumbing and operate the hardware store until his death. Preceding him in death were his parents, two sisters and his wife, Edna. He is survived by four children; Ludwig of Gig Harbor, Wash., Mrs. LaVern (Marcella) Kniep of Byron; Gordon of Naples, Fla., Myron of Byron; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Ernest (Amanda) Eitzmann of Belleville. A memorial service was held March 22 at St. Peter Lutheran Church, rural Byron. Burial was at St. John Lutheran Cemetery, rural Byron.
