Pallbearers were Ray Kunkel, Sylvester Kunkel, Felix Kunkel, Leland Becker, Earl Hentges and Kirby Kramer, all nephews of the deceased. Henry C. F. Becker was born on June 18, 1885 at Le Mars, Iowa, the son of John and Amelia Becker. He attended school and grew to young manhood in the Le Mars community. He was married to Miss Margaret Foley at Le Mars, Iowa, on Jan. 27, 1909. The young couple lived at Le Mars from 1909 to 1918, when they moved to South Dakota. Mr. and Mrs. Becker farmed northwest of Farmer from 1918 until 1948 when Mr. Becker retired and he and his wife moved to Spencer to make their home. Mr. Becker died suddenly Sunday evening, Nov. 18, of a heart attack. He had gone hunting Sunday afternoon and was apparently in the best of health. He died while listening to a radio program. Mr. Becker is survived by his widow, Mrs. Margaret Becker, Spencer; five sons, Robert Becker and Dale Becker, Kingsley, Iowa, John D. Becker, Washington D.C., Clinton Becker, Spencer. and James Becker, De Kalb, Ill; four daughters, Mrs. Arnold (Margaret) Ditter, Alexandria, Mrs. Ralph (Lois) Lussenden, San Diego, Calif., Mrs. James (Gladys) Leahy, Seattle, Wash., and Mrs. Virgil (Irma) Burke, French Morrocco, Africa; one brother, John E. Becker, Le Mars, Iowa; and one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Kunkel, Alexandria. Thirty-two grandchildren also survive. Relatives from a distance who came to attend the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. John E. Becker, Mr. and Mrs. M. E. Hentges and family, Mr. and Mrs. Julius Kass, Mr. and Mrs. Leland Becker and Dan Zeig, all of Le Mars, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Foley and Mr. and Mrs. Venard Sitzman, Kingsley, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Cloyd Zeig, Mr. and Mrs. Al Thill, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Neubel, and Mr. and Mrs. Felix Kunkel, all of Remsen, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Art Kunkel, Oyens, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Schmidt and Mr. and Mrs. Les Donlin, Merrill, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. William Anderson, Madison; William Foley, Vermillion; Mr. and Mrs. Kirby Kramer, Roswell; Mrs. Elizabeth Kunkel, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Kunkel and Mr. and Mrs. Leo Mutziger, Alexandria; Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester Kunkel, Emery; Mr. and Mrs. Leo Kunkel and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kunkel, Spencer; and Mr. and Mrs. Mark Kunkel, Canova. +++ Le Mars Sentinel, IA, Thursday, January 21, 1909 WINTER WEDDINGS Popular Young People Begin New Relations Charming Features Surround Affair Many Guests at all the Wedding functions Honor the Happy Occasion Miss Maggie Elizabeth Foley, and Mr. Henry Becker, were united in marriage at St. James Catholic church on Wednesday morning at nine o'clock, Rev. Father E. O'Farrell performing the ceremony. The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Nellie Foley and the groom was attended by his cousin, John Buscelmann (sic/Buscelman), of Hartington, Neb. The bride was married in a beautiful blue traveling suit with hat and gloves to match and wore a pretty bridal veil. She carried a large bouquet of bridal flowers. The bridesmaid wore a pretty brown suit and carried a large bouquet of carnations. After the most cordial congratulations had been extended by the relatives and friends the wedding party drove back to the Becker home in America township where a most elaborate wedding feast wsa served to about forty of the relatives and friends. At three o'clock the young people left the wedding party and drove to LeMars where they took the 4 o'clock train to Nebraska where they will spend their honey moon visiting with relatives and friends. On their return to LeMars they will go to farming on the Becker farm, south of LeMars, where the groom had prepared a fine home for them. The wedding was most fittingly celebrated at the Becker home by the relatives of the contracting parties all of the afternoon and evening and the feasting and games lasted far into the next day. The young people were the recipients of a large list of elegant presents which were the tokens of esteem from friends. Both the bride and groom were born in this county and have made their home here all their lives and number their friends by the score. The bride is the daughter of M. J. Foley of Marion township, and is a young lady of many accomplishments and her genial disposition has endeared her to a large number in the location where she has resided so long. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Becker, of America township and is a young man of much excellence. Mr. and Mrs. John Becker will remain on the home farm where they have lived for so many years until about the first of June when they will leave on a visit to Nebraska, eastern Iowa and California for several months. On their return they will move to LeMars to make their permanent home. The out of town guests to attend the wedding were eight cousin's of the groom's and all live at Hartington, Neb. They are John Becker, Peter Becker, John Becker, Peter Becker, Joe Becker, John Becker and Peter Becker. John Schaeffer and P. A. Swallow also relatives from Hartington were here to attend the wedding.
