Description	:	Funeral services for Henry Claassen, 66, 6004 Morningside Ave., Sioux City, were held at 11 a.m., January 10, 1969 at the W. Harry Christy Funeral Home in Morningside. The Rev. Russell J. Olson of Trinity Lutheran Church officiated. Another service was held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Immanuel Lutheran Church at Akron, Iowa. The Rev. David Roy of Akron officiated. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery at Akron. Pallbearers were Lewis Springer Jr., Marvin Moss, George Stone, Richard Aalfs, William Claassen and Robert Kiltrom. Honorary pallbearers were John Kilstrom and Stanley Smikahl. Mr. Claassen died Monday after he was stricken at the home of his sister, Mrs. Gillmann, in Sioux City. An inhalator squad attempted to revive him before he was sent to a hospital. Mr. Claassen was born February 16, 1902, in Plymouth County. He farmed in the Akron area from 1933 to 1954. About three years ago he retired and went to Sioux City. During the last 12 years he worked in the elevator construction business. He married Miss Agnes Raver Aug. 14, 1924, at Elk Point. Survivors include the widow; two daughters, Miss Jean Claassen of Philadelphia, Pa., and Mrs. Ralph (Jacqueline) DeLuca of Laurel Springs, N.J.; a brother George of Akron; four sisters, Mrs. R.C. Smikahl of Loveland, Colo., and Mrs. Gillmann, Mrs. Clifford Kilstrom, and Miss Lula Claassen, all of Sioux City; and three grandchildren.
