April 18-(Special)-The funeral services for the late Henry Clark were held this afternoon from the Spring Creek church and the interment was made in the cemetery near by. There was a large turn out of neighbors and friends. Mr. Clark was a son of John Clark, better known in the early days as "Uncle John" Clark. The family came to Spring Creek township in 1852, at a time when there was little of the country except a wide and unbroken stretch of prairie and heavy forests along the streams inhabited chiefly by wild animals and Indians. The father had several yokes of oxen and aided his fellow pioneers by breaking the tough prairie sod on their claims so that they could get a start for the raising of crops. Henry Clark leaves four brothers--Lewis, Andrew, George and Will--and two sisters, Mrs. John Howrey and Mrs. Dan Teeter. There are also surviving five children--Lant, Frank, Clarence, Froney and Minnie. Lester, another son, who was at one time cashier of the Jesup bank, and later in the banking business in a town in South Dakota is dead. For some time past Mr. Clark had been a great sufferer from rheumatism and paralysis. So badly crippled were his limbs that he could hardly bend them. He was about 75 years old.
