Mr. and Mrs. Sever Johnson sang "Softly and Tenderly" and "What a Friend We Have in Jesus," accompanied by the organist, Mrs. Clarence Thayer. Henry Emil Galitz was born the son of Wilhelm Galitz and his wife, Catherine Frahm, on March 26, 1883 at Syracuse in Otoe County, Nebraska. Some years later he moved with his parents to Albion, Nebraska. There he was to live for a number of years. On March 29, 1911 he and Louise Anna Schomburg were united in marriage at the home of her parents, in Nance County, Nebraska. They lived in Albion for seven years after their marriage, and then moved to Colorado, settling near Big Springs, Nebraska. Here they lived for three years and returned to Nebraska to live at Wolbach, where Mr. Galitz was to spend the remainder of his life. Henry Galitz passed away from this life on August 11, 1960, at the age of 77 years, 4 months and 13 days. He and his wife would have observed their fiftieth wedding anniversary this coming March. In this life, Mr. Galitz was by occupation a farmer and was known as a hard worker. He served as treasurer of a school board in Nance County. Mr. Galitz was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and had been a member of the Peace Lutheran Church at Timber Creek, near Belgrade, Nebraska. He was an avid fisherman. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Louise; three daughters, Mrs. Viola Silk of Griswold, Iowa, Mrs. Irene Berney of Wolbach and Mrs. Mae Atwell in Germany with her husband, who is in the armed service; two sons, Raymond Galitz of Macedonia, Iowa and Herbert Galitz of Red Cloud, Nebraska; three sisters, Mrs. Tena Haas and Mrs. Minnie Haas of Albion, Nebraska, and Mrs. Marie Henni of Julesburg, Colorado; two brothers, John and Harvey Galitz of Julesburg, Colorado; fifteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, three sisters, one daughter and one son.
