Description	:	Highland Recorder May 26, 1899 At an early hour Thursday morning the citizens of Monterey were shocked and deeply grieved to learn of the sudden and entirely unexpected death of Henry Itson Trimble which occurred at 7 o'clock at his home on Strait Creek. Read More	Highland Recorder May 26, 1899 At an early hour Thursday morning the citizens of Monterey were shocked and deeply grieved to learn of the sudden and entirely unexpected death of Henry Itson Trimble which occurred at 7 o'clock at his home on Strait Creek. Wednesday he spent the day working on his farm, and Wednesday night he rested well and the following morning enjoyed his breakfast as usual. After breakfast he sent his son, Robert to the pasture for his horse which he intended to drive to town to the election, and waiting walked out in the yard. He had not been out but a moment when he called and asked be taken to the house. He was assisted to his bed and did not live but two or three minutes after lying down. He complained of a pain in his breast and a difficulty in breathing. He told his wife that his trouble would soon be at an end, and with this brief warning his earthly life was brought to a close. Mr. Trimble was 67 at the time of his death. The members of his family then living are: John and James Trimble and Mrs. W. A. Sipe, all of Monterey, and his immediate family. The deceased leaves a wife and eight children - Charles W., James O., Faude, Henry and Robert, Mrs. Felix Crummett, Marlinton, Mrs. E. W. Armstrong of Meadow Dale and Mrs. L. S. Dickenson, who have the sympathy of the entire community. Funeral services took place in the Monterey Methodist church, Rev. Mr. Nevitt officiating after which the body was laid to rest in Monterey j cemetery. Highland Recorder June 9, 1893 H. I. Trimble has moved to town (Monterey) and has taken charge of the post office at this place, vice J. M. Colaw removed. Staunton Spectator June 1, 1899 Died suddenly at his home on Strait Creek. He was postmaster at Monterey for four years. Highland Recorder June 2, 1899 More than five hundred people attended the funeral of Henry I. Trimble last Saturday.
