Description	:	Henry John Pfingsten was the son of German immigrants Christoph and Engel (Tegtmeier); he spent his entire life in Gage County, Nebraska. His mother died when he was only 8 years old; he was the only surviving child, his siblings Sophie, Hermann and Ella all having died at very young ages. His father married the widow Doratha (Heidemann) Most, who at that point did not have children at home. Therefore, he was raised by his step-mother.
