Read More	LENTFER, HENRY—Henry Lentfer, son of Hans and Christin nee Ahrens, was born near Hamburg, Germany, August 25, 1871. He passed away at the Fillmore County hospital in Geneva, June 26, 1962, having reached the age of 90 years, 10 months and 2 days. He had been a resident of the Fairmont Nursing Home the last four years of his life. Mr. Lentfer came to this country from Germany with his parents at the age of 10, settling near Fairmont, where he grew to manhood. June 18, 1902, he was united in marriage to Emma Eichstedt, who preceded him in death February 29, 1960. This union was blessed with three children, two daughters and one son. They made their home on a farm near Grafton until they moved to Geneva. Mr. Lentfer was baptized in the Lutheran faith in Germany and was confirmed at the Lutheran church, then located south of Grafton. Later he became a charter member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church of Grafton, where he retained his membership until his death. Mr. Lentfer is survived by two daughters, Alma Lauenstein of Geneva, and Lillie Miller of Anita, Ia.; a son Carl of Portland, Ore.; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He was the last member of his family. His parents, two sisters and two brothers preceded him in death. The text chosen for the service was Romans 5:3-5, laying particular stress on the “Glory of the Believer in Christ.” Funeral services were held at the Kritner-Farmer funeral home in Geneva Friday, June 29, at 2 p. m. with Pastor Ronald N. Tischer of Grafton officiating. Pallbearers were Harold Lauenstein, Robert Lauenstein, Charles Miller, Delbert Smith, Emil Gerken and Christian Biester. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery.
