Kohtz. Organist was Esther Glinsmann who accompanied the duet, Mrs. Maurice Reiter and Judy Reiter. Pallbearers were Glen Heisner, Emil Glinsmann, Henry Obermiller, Chris Hansen, Richard Wrehe and Al Wrehe. Burial was at Evergreen Cemetery. Steele Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Burial was at Evergreen Cemetery. Steele Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Henry W. Hapke was born on Febr. 5, 1891 to Fritz and Johanna Hapke on a farm west of Ashton. He attended school and grew to manhood in that community. On Febr. 22, 1910, he was united in marriage to Maggie Gross and to them were born three children. His wife passed away Febr. 25, 1945, after a lingering illness. On Dec. 11, 1955, his youngest son, Ferdinand passed away from yellow fever contacted when in the service in the south Pacific which left him in poor health. Mr. Hapke suffered a stroke in March 1956 and had been living in a rest home in Grand Island since that time until his death on July 9. Survivors are two children, Christie L. of Mart, Texas and Mrs. Helen Feldman, Litchfield; two brothers, Alfred and Walter of Texico, N. Mexico; three sisters, Mrs. Alma Snyder, Grand Island, Mrs. Ina Gross Owens, Mulishoe, Texas, and Mrs. Irma Best, formerly of Loup City, now of Minnesota and eleven grandchildren.
