She received her education in Birmingham, except two years at college in Washington, Iowa. She was endowed with a high order of intelligence and a splendid memory. Began teaching at an early age, and at that time was considered one of the best teachers in Van Buren county. She was married to Samuel Boon, May 4th, 1858, who died Aug. 31st, 1899. To this union were born four children: Anna M., Margaret Helen, William Ross and Ada Isabel, all of whom survive her except Helen, wife of Warren Cunningham, who died February 25th, 1895. She was a true and faithful wife and loving mother, not only to her own children, but also to the three children of her husband by a former marriage, who were Robert, Agnes and Edith, also her daughter Helen's child, Hazel Boon Cunningham, who was committed to her care at her mother's death. All of these survive her except Mrs. Agnes Wilson, who died at her home in Ohio January 10th, 1892. She was a consistent, faithful member of the United Presbyterian church from her early life. Hers was a life of sweet contentment, growing out of the happiness she derived from doing for others and making other hearts rejoice. Always speaking kindly words and doing kindly deeds wherever they were needed. Dear mother, thou has left us but we will not forget thee. We will still hear, in imagination, thy tender words and feel the influence of they sweet presence, and we will all, like thee, strive to live close to our Saviour and walk in his footsteps, so that we may be able to meet thee and live in close communion with thee in the life beyond the grave. YOUR CHILDREN Funeral services in charge of Rev. Bock, were held at the home in the east part of town Wednesday at 2 p.m., and burial was in the Birmingham cemetery.
