He was born in Blackford County, Indiana, the son of the late Ardel and Marie (Grindle) Puckett. He married Ruth Lee Phillips on February 1, 1953 in Monroe Township. Raised in rural Upland Mr. Puckett graduated from Jefferson Township High School with the class of 1952. He enjoyed farming and spending time with his family, grandchildren, and friends. He was born in Blackford County, Indiana, the son of the late Ardel and Marie (Grindle) Puckett. He married Ruth Lee Phillips on February 1, 1953 in Monroe Township. Raised in rural Upland Mr. Puckett graduated from Jefferson Township High School with the class of 1952. He enjoyed farming and spending time with his family, grandchildren, and friends. A retired farmer, Mr. Puckett also served as Trustee/Secretary of the Jefferson Cemetery for 12 years. He was Monroe Township Assessor for 16 years, a member of the Monroe Township Board for 8 years and a member of Arcana Masonic Lodge for 53 years. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ruth Lee (Phillips) Puckett; a son Steve (Rita), Puckett, Upland; three daughters, Debbie (Larry) Brown, Glen, MS, Terrie (Chip) Long, Upland, and Sandy (Gary) Jackson, Gaston, eight grandchildren, Robert Brown, Hiedi (Long) Young, Eric Brown, Sara Puckett, Holly (Long) Farr, Jed Puckett, Chad Jackson and Bryan Jackson: three great-grandchildren, Tucker Brown, Bryce Young and Mckenzie Farr; two sisters, Shirley Puckett, Marion and Donna Stanley: a brother-n-law, Loren Thurman, Hartford City. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Anna Lorraine Thurman. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 30, 2010, Jones-Smith Funeral Home, 259 N. Main St., Upland, Indiana. Officiating: Rev.
