Mr. Pinkall had been in poor health for some months, but few of his friends realized that his condition was so serious. Mr. Pinkall was one of the community's foremost citizens. He was quiet and retiring in disposition, but his interest and influence was always exerted for those things that tend to community betterment. Mr. Pinkall's passing will be mourned by all. The wife and son have the sincere sympathy of the people of our community in their hour of sadness. HERMAN PINKALL Herman Pinkall passed away Thursday, May 16th, 1935, at the age of sixty-five years, eight months and twenty-seven days. He was born August 19th, 1869, in Germany. He came to this country with his parents in the spring of 1881, settled in Chicago, where they resided four years, and came to Glasco, Kansas, in July 1885, where he has lived since. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church of which he has always been a faithful member. On March 10th, 1895, he was united in marriage to Clara Studt of Glasco, Kansas. They started up house keeping on the farm where he lived until his death. Having no children of their own they adopted his sister's son, when an infant, who is at present pastor of the First Lutheran Church at South Sioux City, Nebraska. Survivors are his widow, Clara Pinkall; his son, Arthur, one sister, Mrs. Augusta Grittman and a host of other relatives. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, conducted by Rev. George Search. Burial was in Glasco Cemetery.
