The Rev. Lenwood Monte officiated at the services. Minnie Zimmerman of rural Anamosa died Thursday, April 8, at the Senior Home, Monticello, following an extended illness. Hermine (Minnie) Otten was born January 30, 1896 at Scotch Grove, the daughter of Frederick and Hannah Jansen Otten. She received her education in the rural schools near her home. She later worked at the Siebels Grocery at Amber. Minnie Otten and Wilke Zimmerman were married April 25, 1917 at the Otten family home near Scotch Grove. The couple farmed in Wayne Township, Jones County. They also operated a restaurant at Amber for a number of years. Minnie Zimmerman was a lifelong member of Wayne Zion Lutheran Church, where she was baptized and then confirmed her faith on March 20 1910. Surviving are her daughter-in-law, Charlene Zimmerman of Anamosa; three grandsons, Michael Wilhoit, Vaughn Zimmerman, Kent Zimmerman, all of Springfield, MO; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Ben Otten and a sister-in law, Louise Helgens, both of Monticello. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Wilke, a son Willis Zimmerman, two brothers and a sister. Casket bearers were George Tobiason, Darrell Helgens, Ralph Paulsen, David Lasley, Paul Siebels and Harlan Helgens.
