Mrs. W. T. Morman (sic) passed away late Friday evening at her home on North Sixth street. She had been confined to her bed but three days when death overtook her, but she had for a long time been in ill health. Her death was a shock to her many friends and neighbors, and will be a severe loss to her devoted family. The deceased would have been fifty-five years old if she had lived until the twenty-sixth of January. She was born in Ohio in 1848 (sic. 1847 per headstone inscription) and came to Iowa with her parents when but three months old. She grew to womanhood on a farm one mile east of Brookville. She was then married and lived there until they moved here twelve years ago. She was a member of the Methodist church in this city and was a consistent follower of that faith for many years. She leaves four sisters and a brother to mourn her loss and also her husband and two children. Her sisters are Mrs. Sinclair of Grand Junction, Colo.; Mrs. Morris (sic. Morse, not Morris) of Daneison, Texas (sic. Denison, Texas); Mrs. E. W. Ireland and Mrs. J. T. Hudson of near Abingdon and a brother in California. Her husband W. T. Mormon (sic) in this city, a son, Ernest in Winterset, Iowa, and a daughter, Mrs. E. H. Davis in this city survive. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Gilliam, Sunday afternoon at two o'clock. The body was laid to rest in the Evergreen cemetery in this city.
