Description	:	Hilda Morris went home to be with the Lord on December 28, 2004 after a short illness, at the Rosebud Health Care Center in Forsyth. She was born on November 30, 1907 at Hebron, ND, the oldest of five children, to Peter and Margaret (Hoerauf) Buchli. There she spent her early years going to school and helping her Dad on the ranch. She was born on November 30, 1907 at Hebron, ND, the oldest of five children, to Peter and Margaret (Hoerauf) Buchli. There she spent her early years going to school and helping her Dad on the ranch. There Hilda learned to love animals, especially horses. On August 22, 1927 she eloped and married Paul Fetter. They made their home on her Dad's ranch for the first few years. There her son, Wallace, was born August 19, 1928 and her daughter Jean on December 16, 1929. Shortly after they moved to Shirley, MT and ranched on Cottonwood Creek through the depression years. She sold eggs and cream to help buy the groceries. Paul and the neighbors rounded up wild horses and "green-broke" them to sell. In 1940 Paul and Hilda moved to a ranch at Stacey. The '40's were good years for them, alfalfa seed was selling for a good price and rain was plentiful. Although the children had been boarded out to go to school, while living on the ranch at Stacey, they could ride horseback to school. In 1950 Paul decided he wanted a ranch in the mountains. The Stacey ranch was sold and they moved to Springdale, where they bought a ranch in the foothills of the Crazy Mountains. Although he loved the ranch, Hilda's heart was still at Stacey. In August of 1951, Paul was killed in a farm accident and Hilda was widowed at the age of 43. Hilda later married Sam Morris on June 10, 1952. Their respective ranches were sold. Together, they moved to a small farm north of Big Timbre where they spent their 35 years together. They traveled for a few years, but then settled down to doing what Hilda loved best, animals: goats, sheep, chickens of all kinds, peacocks, geese, ducks, etc. Hilda also loved to raise flowers and vegetables, which she shared with friends and strangers alike. After Sam died on April 14, 1987, Hilda moved to Rosebud in December of 1990 to be near her daughter. She later moved to the Rosebud Health Care Center Nursing Home, where she spent the last nine years of her life. Sam and Hilda were members of the Big Timber Church of God, the Springdale Historic Society and the Rock Club. She is survived by her daughter Jean of Rosebud, ten grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, well as three great great grandchildren, and her sister, Cara Hill of TN. Hilda was preceded in death by her two husbands Paul and Sam; her son Wallace; one brother Albert Buchli; her sisters, Irma Gartley and Agnes Bolke; and one grandson, Thomas Melle. Funeral services were held Friday, December 31 in the Church of God at Big Timber. Burial was in the family lot of the Mountain View Cemetery.
