Description	:	Hilda Margaret Kemper, the daughter of August and Emma (Kirsh) Goedeken, was born on December 14, 1915 on the family farm at Naponee, Nebraska. She passed away on April 28, 2005 at Parkview Haven nursing home in Deshler, Nebraska at the age of 89 years, 4 months and 14 days. Hilda was baptized on February 13, 1916 by Pastor H. Dahlke and confirmed on August 10, 1930 by Pastor J. Gamachlich. She attended District 32 country school, Harlan County and graduated from Naponee High School in 1933. She passed away on April 28, 2005 at Parkview Haven nursing home in Deshler, Nebraska at the age of 89 years, 4 months and 14 days. Hilda was baptized on February 13, 1916 by Pastor H. On November 18, 1933 Hilda was united in marriage to Bernard Blake Kemper. To this union, one son was born, Bernard Henry. Hilda lived in Franklin, Nebraska for 58 years where Bernard worked at a lumber yard until moving to Parkview Haven nursing home in 2002 to be closer to family. She was a member of the Friendly Dozen Club for 33 years. Hilda was a homemaker and a devoted mother. She worked outside the home providing house cleaning services and upon Bernard's retirement, the couple operated a "truck garden", selling vegetables to residents in Franklin and nearby communities. Summer visits by family to Grandma and Grandpa Kemper included a garden tour, watering tomato plants, and visiting with customers. The largest pumpkins were saved for grandchildren. Sharing canned produce with family gave Hilda much joy. The family Christmas gift exchange was highlighted by receiving a jar of Hilda's pickles, chow-chow, and strawberry jam. Hilda was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard, son Ben, daughter-in-law Roberta, brothers, Adolph Goedeken, Edward Goedeken, Otto Goedeken, Walter Goedeken and sisters, Leona Meade, Velma Potter, and Alvena Fouts. She is survived by grandchildren, Deb and husband David Wenske, Deshler, Nebraska; Pam and husband Ralph Arett of Palmyra, Nebraska; Cindy and husband Leon Marquart of Byron, Nebraska; and Steve and wife Barb Kemper of Omaha, Nebraska; eight great- grandchildren, Tim Wenske of Byron, Nebraska; Trudy Wenske of Deshler, Nebraska; Jeff and Lori Arett of Palmyra, Nebraska; Andy Marquart and wife Melinda of Lincoln, Nebraska Maggie Marquart of Byron, Nebraska, Julienne and Vienne Kemper of Omaha, Nebraska, sisters-in-law and many nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Funeral services were held on Monday, May 2, 2005 at 11:00 AM from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home Chapel in Superior, Nebraska with Connie Raess PMA officiating. Special music was "Amazing Grace" with Maggie Marquart as pianist. Congregational hymns were "How Great Thou Art" and "Rock Of Ages". Pallbearers were David Wenske, Tim Wenske, Ralph Arett, Jeff Arett, Leon Marquart, Andy Marquart and Steve Kemper. Honorary pallbearers were Trudi Wenske, Lori Arett, Maggie Marquart, Julienne Kemper, Vienne Kemper and Melinda Marquart. Interment was at 2:15pm on Monday, May 2, 2005 at the Greenwood Cemetery at Franklin, Nebraska with Rev. Baron and Nancy Cole officiating. Memorials may go to Parkview Haven Nursing Home of Deshler, Nebraska. Megrue-Price Funeral Home of Superior, Nebraska was in charge of the arrangements.
