Jantzen, and they were blessed with a daughter and two sons. Hildegard was a homemaker and had cooked in the kitchen at Tri County Public Schools from 1972-1982. She was a member of the First Mennonite Church, Rural Beatrice and had been a member of the Ladies Aid and had taught Sunday School and Bible School. (Thimm) Jantzen, 97 October 5, 1918 ~ January 10, 2016 Hildegard was born on October 5, 1918 at Beatrice, Nebraska to Henry and Anna (Claassen) Thimm. She married David W. Jantzen, and they were blessed with a daughter and two sons. Hildegard was a homemaker and had cooked in the kitchen at Tri County Public Schools from 1972-1982. She was a member of the First Mennonite Church, Rural Beatrice and had been a member of the Ladies Aid and had taught Sunday School and Bible School. She enjoyed gardening, playing Scrabble, and china painting. Hildegard M. Jantzen, 97 years of age, of Beatrice entered eternity at the Beatrice Good Samaritan Center on Sunday morning, January 10, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Anna (Claassen) Thimm; husband David W. Jantzen; and sister Ellen Esau. Left with memories are her children and spouses; 6 grandchildren and their spouses, 6 great-grandchildren, two sisters and a brother-in-law, 9 nieces and nephews and their spouses, extended family and friends. Memorial services will be held at 2 pm Thursday, January 14, 2016 at the First Mennonite Church with Pastor Brett Klingenberg officiating. Interment will be at 1:30 pm Thursday at the Mennonite Cemetery. The body will lie in state from 1-8 pm Wednesday and Thursday until noon at the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice with the family greeting friends Wednesday from 7-8 pm, and not at the church. A memorial has been established to the church and the Beatrice Community Hospital Hospice with Bill and Barb Thimm in charge.
