HORTENSE - of LaFollette, passed away Wednesday morning, January 1, 2003 at St. Mary's Health and Rehab in LaFollette. She was a member of Fincastle United Methodist Church, U.M.W., The LaFollette Book Club and LaFollette Garden Club. She was a former member of LaFollette B.&P.W. Club. HORTENSE - of LaFollette, passed away Wednesday morning, January 1, 2003 at St. Mary's Health and Rehab in LaFollette. She was a member of Fincastle United Methodist Church, U.M.W., The LaFollette Book Club and LaFollette Garden Club. She was a former member of LaFollette B.&P.W. Club. Ms. Farris taught in Campbell County Schools for 36 years and 4 years in Volusia County, Florida. She volunteered at The LaFollette Medical Center as a Pink Lady for 17 years and her hobby was growing roses. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. And Mrs. Verlin Farris two sisters and two brothers. Survivors: sisters, Edna Odom and her husband, Manson Odom of Palatke, Florida, Wanda Jones of Marion, Indiana, Nora Lindsey and Loraine Farris of LaFollette several nieces and nephews sister-in-law, Wilma Farris. Funeral services will be at 12:00 noon on Friday, January 3, 2003 at Fincastle United Methodist Church, Rev. Kevin Cole officiating. Interment will be in Fincastle Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon prior to the funeral service at the church. Memorials may be made to Fincastle United Methodist Church Building Fund, 629 Old Middlesboro Hwy., LaFollette, Tennessee 37766. Cross Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
