Description	:	SCOTIA — Howard E. Glines, 71, of Scotia died Sunday, Aug. 24, 2014, at Howard County Medical Center in St. Paul. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul. The Rev. Mark Middendorf will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery at Scotia. Mr. Glines was born Nov. 11, 1942, in Wolbach to Floyd and Velma (Boesen) Glines. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lana Kay Glines. Mr. Glines was born Nov. 11, 1942, in Wolbach to Floyd and Velma (Boesen) Glines. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lana Kay Glines. Survivors include his wife, Harriett; a son and daughter-in-law, Eugene and Kristie Glines of Florence, Ariz.; a daughter and son-in-law, Katherine and Ty Crocker of Parker, Colo.; a brother and sister-in-law, Clyde and Roberta Glines of Central City; and two sisters and brothers-in-law, Lila and James Stilson of Fountain, Colo., and Twila and Jerold McCrown of Happy, Texas. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Kelsie, Gevin, Gared and Kaitlyn. He was raised in the Wolbach and Scotia areas. He attended North Loup-Scotia High School, where he graduated in 1961. After his graduation, he worked for Greeley County. Howard was united in marriage to Harriett Burton on Jan. 13, 1965, at the United Methodist Church in Scotia. Howard worked for Vlach Construction and Christensen Feed Yard. He worked helping to build the Calamus Dam and ditches. He purchased his own equipment and was self-employed as Glines Construction. He then bought a Bobcat and worked as Glines Tree Cutting. Howard and Harriett owned the Scotia Cafe for 14½ years. Howard enjoyed hunting deer and waterfowl. He especially enjoyed his family and grandchildren’s activities. He was a member of the Scotia Fire Department, R.C. & D and Biochar. He was also preceded in death by his parents.
