Born in Seattle, Wash., he was the son of the late Sabert Alexander and Emma Lou Todd Richardson. He attended Bel Air High School and Rets Electronic School. He worked on the family farm, Richardson Dairy Farm, which was adjacent to the Bel Air Roller Rink. He retired after 35 years and then traveled around the country by car. Born in Seattle, Wash., he was the son of the late Sabert Alexander and Emma Lou Todd Richardson. He attended Bel Air High School and Rets Electronic School. He worked on the family farm, Richardson Dairy Farm, which was adjacent to the Bel Air Roller Rink. He retired after 35 years and then traveled around the country by car. He was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church since 1936, serving as a choir director and a soloist. He displayed his musical talent as a jazz pianist, saxophonist and an accordionist. He sang and played musical instruments at the church for 70 years. Mr. Richardson is survived by his wife of 60 years, Clara Esther Reedy Richardson; two sons, Ronald Lee Richardson of Bel Air and Hugh Gwyn Richardson, Jr. of Bel Air; two grandchildren, Valerie A. Rayfield of Salisbury and Michael L. Richardson of Salisbury; and two great-grandchildren, Joshua Rayfield and Ryan Richardson. He was the grandfather of the late William Brian Richardson. Services were held at the Oak Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Harold L. Hubble, Dr. David A. Hall and Rev. Kenneth E. Tipton officiating. Interment was in the Bel Air Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were Michael L. Richardson, Kenneth Phipps, Norman Grafton, David Reedy, Phil Moyer and Bill Rayfield. Honorary pallbearers were Burl Wagner, Justice Brewer, Alton Simmons, Bynum Simmons, J. C. Coomes and John Grafton.
