Description	:	Hugh LeRoy, son of Thomas Wesley and Margaret Day was born at Murray, Iowa, March 29, 1882 and passed away at his home in Murray, August 8, 1944, at the age of sixty-two years, four months and nine days. With the exception of eighteen years spent in Kansas, Mr. Day lived his life here in Iowa, farming until his health failed and he had to retire. Read More	Hugh LeRoy, son of Thomas Wesley and Margaret Day was born at Murray, Iowa, March 29, 1882 and passed away at his home in Murray, August 8, 1944, at the age of sixty-two years, four months and nine days. With the exception of eighteen years spent in Kansas, Mr. Day lived his life here in Iowa, farming until his health failed and he had to retire. He was united in marriage with Jennie Kaine on Feb. 7, 1915 at Wamego, Kansas. To this union - were born five children, three sons and two daughters. He was confirmed in the St. Lukes Episcopal Church of Wamego, Kansas on November 27, 1921 by the Rev. J. E. Broadhead, pastor of the church. He remained a faithful member of this church until his summons came to meet his Master. Those who survive are his wife and five children - three sons - LEROY of Centerville, Iowa - THOMAS WILLIAM in the service of his country and ROBERT at home. Two daughters - Lucille and Joan both at home. There is one sister, Mrs. A. M. Davis of Rushville, Nebraska and one brother - Bryan Day of Lorimor, Iowa Funeral services were conducted from the Watts Funeral Home, Friday afternoon at one o'clock by Rev. R. Underwood, pastor of the Methodist Church of Murray. Pallbearers were - Ed Hickman, Elmer Goodrich, Max Moore, Roy Crabb, W. A. Agans and Ira Watson. Mrs Garold Johnson and Mrs Stanley Watts sang "The old Rugged Cross" - "Ivory Palaces" and "Beyond the sunset" accompanied by Mrs. C.W. Arnold. Mr. Days body was laid to rest in the Murray Cemetery
