Moravia UnionMarch 3, 1938Roe AdamsFuneral RitesHeld MondayRoe Adams, highly respected and lifelong resident of this vicinity,passed away at his home in Moravia Sunday morning at about 9 o'clock.He had been ill over an extended period of time and his conditionwas critical for several weeks. Mr. Adams was born in this vicinity and continued to live here all of his life time. Thus he established a wide acquaintance and had many friends who are deeply grieved by his passing. He followed the occupation of farming for many years but had lived in Moravia for about 20 years.ObituaryHugh Monroe Thomas Adams was born August 11, 1869, north of Unionville, Iowa, and departed this life February 27, 1938, at his home in Moravia, Iowa, at the age of 68 years, 6 months and 16 days. He was the son of Denman and Rebecca Adams. He was united in marriage to Luvada Lockman, March 6, 1892. To this union 7 children were born. Two children preceded him in death. His loving wife and five children are left to mourn his loss. Those living are Nina Jarvis of Moulton, Iowa, Frank Adams of Port Huron, Mich., Mae Kingery of Moravia, Iowa, Effie Hammond of Moravia,Iowa, Stella Lenz of Des Moines, Iowa, all of whom are present exceptthe son. Also surviving are 21 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren,6 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives.He gave his heart to Christ in 1905 in a missionary Baptist revival at Fairview school house, and in later years changed his membership to the Christian church where he lived a true and faithful member..Sleep on dear Dad, thy labors are o'er;Thy willing hands will work no more,On earth there's strife, in Heaven rest;They miss you most, who loved you best..Funeral services were conducted from the Christian church in MoraviaMonday afternoon, Feb. 28, at 2:00 o'clock, Rev.
