Lead Daily Call newspaper, October 18, 1950 - "Mrs. Stonefelt Dies Early Today. Mrs. Oscar Stonefelt, 76, a resident of the Black Hills for many years and widely known in Lead, succumbed at the Homestake Hospital at 4:15 this morning following a lengthy illness. Hulda Anderson was born in Sweden, May 3, 1874. She came to the United States as a young woman and was married to Oscar Stonefelt, who preceded her in death April 11, 1940. Four sons and three daughters survive. They are Elmer Stonefelt of St. Paul, Minn., and Hilding, Edwin and Turnie Stonefelt of Lead, and Mrs. Myrtle Lindquist, Mrs. Irene Shaw and Miss Ruth Stonefelt, all of Lead. She is also survived by an uncle, Oscar Nelson, 12 grandchildren and one great grandchild, Carolyn Jean Stonefelt. The grandchildren are Edwin, Wilbur, David, Karen, Eleanor and Alvin Stonefelt, Donald and Louise Lindquist, and Eugene and Robert Shaw, all of Lead, and Ronald and LaVonne Stonefelt of St. Paul. Mrs. Stonefelt was a member of Bethel Lutheran church in Lead. Funeral services have been tentatively set for Friday afternoon. Interment will be in the family lot in the municipal cemetery of South Lead. Elmer Stonefelt and family arrived in Lead Thursday evening for a brief visit with his mother, but found it necessary to return to St. Paul Sunday. He will return to Lead for the funeral rites." Lead Daily Call, October 19, 1950 - "Last Rites For Mrs. Stonefelt Friday. Funeral services for Mrs. Oscar Stonefelt will be held Friday at 2:30 p.m., at McColley's Funeral home. Mrs. Stonefelt died early Wednesday morning at the Homestake Hospital after a long illness. Rev. A.G. Mathisen, pastor of Bethel Lutheran Church, will conduct the funeral service. Interment will be in the family plot at South Lead municipal cemetery." Lead Daily Call, October 20, 1950 - "Services Held For Mrs. Oscar Stonefelt. Funeral services for Mrs. Oscar Stonefelt were held at 2:30 p.m. today at McColley's Funeral Home. Mrs. Stonefelt died in the Homestake Hospital early Wednesday morning after a long illness. The Rev. A.G. Mathisen, pastor of Bethel Lutheran Church officiated at the services. Honorary pallbearers were Andrew Nyberg, Ole Storsve, J.M. Nelson, William E. Konola and Alfred Lind, all of Lead, and John Erickson of Nemo. Active pallbearers were Elmer G. Stonefelt, Hilding A. Stonefelt, Edwin E. Stonefelt, Turnie H. Stonefelt, Edwin L.
