SAMMONS DIES SUDDENLY AT ROME, IOWA ---------- Special To The Hawk-Eye Rome, la., Nov. 12.—Mrs. Richard Sammons, 68, passed away at her home here Sunday morning at ??. She suffered a stroke Thursday evening and remained unconscious to the end. Addella Whipple was born June 1861 at Bridgeport, la., and has spent her many years at Rome or near by. She was married March 16, 1883 to Richard Sammons, who with four children mourn her loss. Three other children preceded their mother in death, Bobby, who died in infancy, Floyd and Eva, who passed away Oct. 29, 1918. The remaining four children are Edward, Clem, and Alva, of Rome and Mrs. Luther Christner of Mt. Union. Mrs. Sammons has been in failing health for many months, but seemed better the past week. Her sudden death is a great shock to her relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock at the Rome Baptist church, in charge of Pastor F. E. Weston, of Mt. Pleasant. Interment will be in the Green Mound Cemetery, west of Trenton.
