Description	:	Ida Gazina Hulsebus, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter J. Hulsebus, was born in Leer Ostfresland Darmstadt, Germany, November 7, 1863 and departed this life at the home of her eldest son, George R. Binau May 4, 1940, at the age of 78 years 8 months and 27 days. Mrs. Binau suffered a paralytic stroke April 27. Her daughter, Miss Hannah Binau, Des Moines, arrived Tuesday, and another daughter, Mrs. Laura Newingham, Longton, Kansas came Saturday night. Her daughter, Miss Hannah Binau, Des Moines, arrived Tuesday, and another daughter, Mrs. Laura Newingham, Longton, Kansas came Saturday night. At the age of three, she came to the United States with her parents. They settled in Burlington, Iowa. On March 5, 1882, she was married to George Binau, who, with two daughters, Margaret Preston and Lena b. Gibbs, preceded her in death. She is survived by four children, George R. and Karl B. of Allerton, Mrs. Laura Newingham of Longton, Kansas, and Hannah K. Binau of Des Moines, ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; also two sisters, Mrs. Etta Schmidt of Peoria, IL and Mrs. Dena Gerdes of Attica, Kan., and a host of relatives and friends. She was confirmed in the Lutheran church, and later, with her family, joined the New Zion Methodist church. In 1913 she moved her membership to the Methodist church in Allerton, where she has been a faithful member until God called her to the church triumphant. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Allerton Methodist church with Rev. S. P. Trostle officiating. Burial was in the Allerton cemetery.
